In the 1930's, the entire world suffered from the great depression, which was a great economically downturn, starting with the stock market crash in 1929. As I said, the entire world suffered from the downturn, but the country that suffered the most was USA.
Life in the USA at that time was difficult, to be honest. What was once the land of opportunity was now the land of desperation. At that thime, the American economical situation was at an all time low.

John Steinbeck
John Steinbeck is the author of the book me and my class have been reading; "Of Mice and Men". He was born the 27th of february, 1902, in Salinas - California. He's known as one of the leading American writers in the 20th century. Steinbeck was married three times in his life, and his second marriage resulted in two kids.
Regarding his written works, the books that's worth mentioning is The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, The Moon Is Down and Travels With Charley: In Search of America. Some of these works are based upon Steinbecks view of life, as he grew up, and fiction, of course. An example is "Of Mice and Men, where he includes stories about Salinas, his childhood home! Rather , interesting, if you ask me.

Of Mice And Men - the end
Well, now I'm done reading the book "Of Mice And Men". I have to say that the ending was surprising, to speak mildly. The fact that George shot Lennie, was unexpected. Now I'll have to do the questions related to the book.

Of Mice And Men
Well, I'm just done with the 4th section/chapter of the book we're reading; "Of Mice And Men". It's an interesting book, so far anyway, with caracthers you can relate to. Regarding the 4th section, it all takes place in Crooks' bedroom(Crooks is the black stable buck). Lennie visits him, and they start talking. The whole sequence is really interesting, as Crooks points out a real problem; "What if George leaves you Lennie?".
Well, that's all for now, cu
